ABOUT ME

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Certified EMDR Therapist at Radiance Counseling in Rockwall, Texas. I specialize in therapy for anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, and trauma.

I help high-achieving adults and teens, and am trained in the Gottman Method for couples therapy. I offer both in-person sessions at my Rockwall office and secure virtual therapy to clients throughout Texas.

My clients are often adults and teenagers who are driven, capable, and deeply committed to success—but internally, they’re struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, and intrusive thoughts.

They’re used to being “the one who holds it all together.”

But behind the scenes, it feels exhausting.

You may find yourself:

  • Constantly overthinking or second-guessing yourself

  • Experiencing intrusive or racing thoughts

  • Struggling with burnout, low motivation, or mental fatigue

  • Feeling like no matter what you do, it’s never enough

Hi, I’m Meagan,

Couples Therapy Backed by Research (Gottman Method)

I’m also deeply passionate about helping couples strengthen their relationship using the Gottman Method, a research-based approach to couples therapy with high success rates.

Through this work, I help couples:

  • Improve communication and emotional connection

  • Build a strong foundation of friendship and trust

  • Navigate conflict in a healthy, productive way

  • Strengthen their relationship through life’s challenges and transitions

Rather than avoiding conflict, you’ll learn how to move through it in a way that actually strengthens your relationship and deepens your connection.

A Deeper, Trauma-Informed Approach to Healing

As a Certified EMDR Therapist, I believe that many of these patterns are rooted in earlier life experiences.

Most people have gone through stressful or traumatic experiences—whether obvious or subtle—that have shaped their beliefs, coping patterns, and emotional responses. These experiences often influence how you view yourself, how you show up in relationships, and how you respond to stress today.

At the core of my work is the belief that in order to create lasting change, we must first understand and process the foundational experiences that have shaped you.

Through EMDR therapy and a trauma-informed approach, we work to:

  • Process unresolved experiences that continue to impact you

  • Reduce the intensity of intrusive thoughts and emotional triggers

  • Shift negative core beliefs and self-perception

  • Help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and freedom

This isn’t about staying stuck in the past—it’s about understanding it so you can rewrite your story moving forward.

I take a compassionate approach to help clients build insight and confidence while developing practical coping skills. I use evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to help you understand your story, shift patterns that no longer serve you, and reconnect with your authentic self. Our early experiences shape how we navigate challenges. By exploring these patterns, we can build healthier coping strategies.

I am trained in Gottman Level 1 Therapy, which helps couples strengthen their communication and deepen their emotional connection.

I am also trained in EMDR therapy, which helps individuals process trauma and reduce the emotional weight it carries in your present life.

My Approach:

Clients often describe working with me as warm, grounded, and refreshingly honest. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method — tailored to what each client actually needs. Whether you're a high-achieving professional navigating burnout, a teenager overwhelmed by pressure, or a couple trying to reconnect, I meet you where you are and help you build skills that stick.
